The Malmö Arab Film Festival has announced a partnership agreement with EgyptAir, making the airline one of the official sponsors of the festival’s 15th edition, set to take place in Malmö, Sweden, from April 29 to May 5, 2025.
The agreement was signed by Mouhamad Keblawi, founder and president of the Malmö Arab Film Festival, and Mr. Mohamed El-Alfy, EgyptAir’s Regional Office Manager for Northern Europe and the Baltic region. This partnership reflects EgyptAir’s commitment to supporting cultural and artistic events that strengthen connections between the Arab world and Europe.
Commenting on the partnership, Mouhamad Keblawi stated: “We are proud to collaborate with EgyptAir, which has always played a vital role in connecting the Arab world with the rest of the globe. This partnership will enhance the presence of Arab filmmakers and guests at the festival, enriching the event and fostering cultural exchange between the Arab region and the Nordic countries.”
For his part, Mr. Mohamed El-Alfy said “EgyptAir is delighted to be one of the official sponsors of the Malmö Arab Film Festival, one of the most prominent platforms for Arab cinema in Europe. We are committed to supporting arts and culture and look forward to facilitating the arrival of guests and participants, in line with our mission of strengthening ties between people.”
Since its inception in 2011, the Malmö Arab Film Festival has established itself as the largest and most significant Arab film event in Europe. What started as an ambitious idea to introduce Arab cinema to Nordic audiences quickly exceeded all expectations, evolving into a global platform for cultural dialogue and artistic exchange between the Arab world and Europe.
The festival celebrates the diversity of Arab cinema, reflecting its narratives and perspectives from across the Arab world while fostering connections between Arab filmmakers and their Nordic counterparts. Its program includes competitions for feature and short films, both fiction and documentary, alongside special screenings and parallel events.
